Edit: Aw, remember how we were all "Done with DB" after the 4x07 scripts leaked? Good times. I wish we really had stopped back then tbh tbh.

This is SUCH a filler! I just wanted to post again, something, because otherwise I wouldn't have managed today, which made me all sad. (There totally will be a raincheck for the two days I missed too, I love Betty way to much.)

1. I found really awesome meta: Betty has always been this angry. She’s always wanted to just stand there and scream that she hates somebody, that she wants him (her, them) dead. But now, she has an excuse. It’s him, Don, that bastard, that cheating drunk lying fraud son of a fucking bitch, the one place in the world that she is allowed to aim her anger. It’s all his fault. (...) In previous seasons, when Betty was upset in the middle of a business dinner, her hands just went numb, or she threw up in the car on the way home. (...) We all said we wanted Betty to get in touch with her anger, but we expected that anger to look admirable and positive and feminist. We didn’t consider that it might just be anger. That she might just not bother to think about how she was serving the world or women or the audience when she finally got to the point of rage.

2. We can talk about how Betty is the woman in every Hopper painting ever. Most striking:
But there are way more. Hopper is such a Mad Men artist, sometimes I wonder if the directors vaguely model some of their shots after his paintings, some train scenes seem especially familiar.

3. Today's scene

Can we all just agree that 2x08 breaks our hearts forever? Betty walks around in that dress FOR DAYS, not looking like a housewifey doll for the very first time, trying to find something and she doesn't but she KNOWS and Don, that no-good man, just lies to her face for about 20 times in a row and she almost buys it. Girl, why don't you just kick him already.

So, my today's mission was to figure WHY people hated Betty anyway, because I really have no idea. So I googled a bit, and ofc, found mainly really gross things. I wouldn't really call this meta though, (BECAUSE I AM SO BAD AT IT) it's just me defending Bets a bit.
